How to (Make A) Single Crochet (sc)

The single crochet (sc) stitch is fundamental in amigurumi, acting as the building block of amigurumi plushies. They are likely the stitch that you will do the most, so get comfortable with them!

How to make a single crochet (sc)–in word form:

  1. Insert your hook into the work where you want the single crochet to be.
  2. Yarn over.
  3. Pull through the work. You should have two loops on your hook after pulling through.
  4. Yarn over.
  5. Pull through the two loops.
