The slip stitch (sl st) is important in crochet because it helps to connect certain parts of the project together, connect new colors or new yarn to a project, finish projects off, and, in some cases, end a round before beginning a new one.
How to make a slip stitch (sl st)–in word form:
- Insert your hook into the work.
- Yarn over.
- Pull through the work and the original loop on your hook.
