Being able to hide the (yarn) tail(s) at the end of your crochet project is super important! Hiding tail(s) comes after fastening the project off or after sewing and helps to make amigurumi plushies look more beautiful, neat, and like a finished product.
How hide the (yarn) tail(s)–in word form:
- Insert the tail into the eye of your darning needle.
-
Insert the darning needle into your project near where you fastened off and have the needle come out of a random spot on your project.
-
Pull the needle and yarn through. Be careful to not pull too hard or else you might deform the project.
-
Insert the needle into the same spot that the tail is coming out of and have the needle come out of a different random spot on your project.
-
Pull the needle and yarn through.
-
Repeat steps 4 and 5 at least one more time if the tail is long enough OR until the tail becomes too short to repeat.
-
Remove the yarn from the darning needle and cut the yarn tail as close to the project as possible. **Be careful not to cut the actual project!**
-
Using the darning needle or the tip of your scissors, poke the yarn tail back into the hole until it is not visible.
